First blog

Wondering why I am doing this but suspect I need something frivolous right now to ease the pain of fundraising. My church has been given a fabulous and rare Victorian Pipe Organ with the light oak gilded case and huge classical figures of scantily clad girls. ( This WILL increase Church in Wales worshipping statistics once word gets out). I am kept busy just dealing with the Bevington's fan mail from all over the world. Am down to my last £50,000 to find now but we are all positive in my team ( mostly anyhow). Went to a lecture yesterday by a guy who, amongst other things, does research into the BBC music archives. He played us wonderful things including a recording of King Tut's trumpet being played inside the tomb, set up by Howard Carter. I emailed a friend who is a professional trumpet player & teacher who rather took the wind ( sorry!) out of my sails by telling me that it had a modern mouthpiece fitted.  I suppose it must have done.
Another stressful session last night trying to teach huge grey puss Wilks that supper time is 10.30 PM. First he ate The Telegraph , which we'd not read, and then he moved on to Sir Roy Strong's book about small country churches and began chewing the cover. If anyone out there knows about controlling spoilt cats I would appreciate hearing from you.
